ABOUT THE WLCSRF

Incorporated in Missouri in February 1983, the William L. Clay Scholarship and Research Fund awards scholarships for full-time study toward a bachelor's degree in the program and at the institution of a scholar’s choice. Whenever possible, the scholarship covers full tuition and fees.

Since the first class of Scholars in 1985, the Fund has helped hundreds of young people from the St. Louis area achieve their dreams. By helping to cover the costs of educating those deserving students—a cost which borders on $6 million—the Clay Scholarship has ensured hat our scholars can be found as leaders in virtually every industry from education to medicine to engineering or business.

The WLCSRF keeps a low overhead to apply as much money as possible toward education costs, and nearly every Clay Scholar in our history has reached his or her educational summit by attaining a bachelor’s degree. Many have pursued further education, and they have all become positive members of their communities.

A Board of Directors meets annually to maintain the business of the fund, and a special scholarship committee interviews students to determine annual awards for qualified applicants.

All of this is made possible by funds raised through sales of books penned by Bill Clay, an annual golf tournament and regular donations from people like you.

The Fund was granted tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code in December 1983. Our Federal Tax Number is 43-1288222.
