WLCSRF celebrates 25 years with Dinner and Silent Auction
WLCSRF Founder William L. Clay delivered a keynote address to a crowd of about 200 at the WLCSRF 25th Anniversary Dinner and Silent Auction on May 14. Clay emphasized the success of scholars and the importance of the program in educating students in the First Congressional District.
Board members, current Clay scholars, program alumni and other supporters filled a banquet hall at The Ambassador in St. Louis to celebrate the milestone for the scholarship fund. Seven high school seniors who make up the 2011 class of Clay Scholars were also on hand to be recognized and take on the pledge to achieve as a Clay Scholar.

Annual WLCSRF Golf Tournament to be held June 27
One of the William L. Clay Scholarship and Research Fund’s most anticipated events will resume this year when the William L. Clay Scholarship and Research Fund's Invitational Golf Tournament begins on Monday, June 27, 2011 at The Greenbriar Country Club in St. Louis.

Clay Alumni pledge more than $1,700 in annual donations
Twenty-two former recipients of the William L. Clay Scholarship pledged to contribute $1,785 dollars to the WLCSRF during our 2011 Alumni donation drive. Contributions from Clay Alumni have always been a part of former Congressman Bill Clay's vision for the Fund as former recipients extend a helping hand to today's students. This year's contributions mark a successful pledge drive, and Alumni hope to build on these annual contributions in the future. Clay Alumni kick off 25th Anniversary celebration with bonfire
Around 20 people gathered at The Atomic Cowboy for the opening event of the WLCSRF's 25th Anniversary Celebration. Those who braved a chilly November night were able to enjoy a crackling fire, gooey s'mores, a few games of Twister and plenty of laughs. The staff at The Atomic Cowboy were accomodating hosts and Alumni were happy to increase awareness about the Fund.

Clay Alumni to host Saturday bonfire; public encouraged to attend
The public is invited to join Clay Scholars at a 25th Anniversary Celebration Bonfire on Saturday, Nov. 13. The event will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Atomic Cowboy, located at 4140 Manchester Blvd. in St. Louis. The event is a 21+ event and will include games, s'mores and, of course, an autumn bonfire. Cost is $5 at the door; proceeds benefit the WLCSRF.

Clay Alum claims excellence in education award
Clay Scholar Bruce Green earned an Excellence in Education Award from the St. Louis American Foundation for his work as an educator in St. Louis Public Schools. He currently serves as the principal at the Carnahan High School of the Future. Read more about his award in The St. Louis American.
