Since 1985, the William L. Clay Scholarship and Research Fund (WLCSRF) has provided four-year scholarships to the best and brightest high school students facing the greatest financial need. Your contribution makes a difference to every Scholar and soon will have an even greater impact in a new way.
As we celebrate 40 years of service, WLCSRF is embarking on a new chapter in our longstanding commitment to empower young people through education. In partnership with Saint Louis University — the alma mater of our founder — WLCSRF has established the William L. Clay Sr. Institute of Civic Engagement and Economic Justice, set to launch Fall 2025.
The Clay Institute is focused on immersive learning experiences and hands-on training that address the social and economic challenges facing the St. Louis region and the nation. Institute programming will be available to all students with an interest in civic engagement and democratic participation.
